The current sex crimes dragnet sweeping across the country, pulling in celebrities, media millionaires, and politicians, has yet to reel in a high-profile professor from the hallowed halls of academia

Will Bill Ayers be the first?

In a 2006 Frontpagemag article entitled "Remembering a Sixties Terrorist," a woman named Donna Ron recounted what she described as "the defining event of my life."

I think a long list of banjo boys (rock stars) could be added to the list. Along with their agents, promoters, producers...

I know this will not be a popular comment, and I know it will be misconstrued to mean something that I don't mean, but...

Stupid girls putting themselves in stupid positions to win stupid prizes.

Let me be the first to agree. Donna should be lucky she didn't win the ultimate prize like the girlfriend of Earth Day founder Ira Einhorn.

She may have been more stupid than most, and may still be, but not to deserve rape. Haven't we all done foolish things and especially when young?

Are you really going to force me to give my opinion on whether what was described in the article was "rape"?

Your opinion is at your pleasure.

She was, according to her story, kidnapped and granted leave only upon servicing the two gents.

She went to the apartment willingly.  Bill told her she couldn't leave and when she tried to he stepped in front of her and locked the door.  She said she wouldn't have sex with the two guys and then had sex with the black dude because she was "guilted" into it.  There were two other men in the apartment that she could have asked for help from.  Did she do that?  She could have sat her ass there on the couch and refused to budge unless they moved her.  Did she do that?  She could have demanded to be let out of the apartment.  Did she do that?

Basically what happened was he told her she was going to have sex with the two guys, she said no, he said yes, and off she went to have sex with them.  Was it bad behavior on Bill's part?  Yep.  Was it rape?  Not as described.

I guess it's a good thing these guys didn't magically find her laying naked in a yard.

Otherwise it's ok because she was "stupid".

Sounds like coercion to me.

Is the female victim of rape, required to offer physical resistance? Or does coercion suffice?

This reminds me of a recent thread where people read what they wanted to read in a post to manufacture the rage and hate that suited them.

I think there are some very careful distinctions that need to be made on a case by case basis.

"Come on, baby. I know you want to go back to my place and have a little fun." Could be considered coercion.  If she went would it be considered rape?
