Quote
. . . Leeann Tweeden’s credible accusation against Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn) thrust the
former Saturday Night Live writer into a situation Democrats were not ready to see. The allegation
surfaced at the same time people (i.e., liberals and Democrats) were forced to admit they were
wrong about Bill Clinton. Their epiphanies don’t mean all that much considering the same people
were happy to smear Clinton’s accusers nearly 20 years ago. Still, it was a show of some progress
on their part.

And then President Trump decided to tweet about it . . .

. . . Naturally, Trump sycophants thought it was the greatest thing ever, when it was in fact, a big
mistake.

What Trump managed to do with two tweets was two-fold:

1. He managed to get called out for saying nothing about Roy Moore who was accused sexually
assaulting several women when they were teenagers – one as young as 14.

2. By doing so, he was able to get the press to dredge up the multiple accusations made against
him
.

It is a textbook example of a person not helping by saying something instead of just
shutting up. You can bet that Democrats will now rally around Franken because he showed
“contrition” and “apologized.”

Nice work, Mr. President.

Red State, National Review, Daily Wire, Ben Shapiro, from any of these sources, this is a predictable response.

How about, "wow, Trump is saying this??"

Glad these anti-Trump sources, rush to the defense of Al Frankenstein.  000hehehehe

In his tweet, Trump called him Al Frankenstein - Trump has no class and common sense.  He has to make everyone lower than he is and tries that by calling them names.

Someone once ripped me for referring to Hilarious Rodent Clinton, and I had to remind that individual that
I wasn't running for office so I could call the miscreants whatever I pleased.

Uh, nobody at Red State, National Review, or The Daily Wire is defending Al Frankenfurter, Muttley. ;)

And they're not exactly in a big rush to defend Droopy Drawers Clinton, either.

Speaking of economic figures are they all accurate now that Trump is in the White House?Just asking because many of the same people touting the  economic figures now were all claiming they were wrong and fudged when Barack Obama was in office

And as for the Stock Market, does Trump himself still believe that the stock market is a big fat juicy bubble waiting to burst like he did in 2016 ?

Sometimes I think the President throws out some tweets just to keep the haters occupied so he can get on with doing what's important without having to sidestep their yapping.

You mean "easily distracted" as in page after page of predictable repetition?

Yup.   ^-^

And distractible in the clinical sense:  a condition in which the attention of the mind is easily distracted by small and irrelevant stimuli

There might have been a scintilla of possibility in that if Trump was actually accomplishing things of substance; but he isn’t, so it’s just pathetically funny.

Maybe he's convinced himself that without the tweets more of his base would choose instead to chase some other shiny squirrel.

Trump ran on being a great dealmaker/negotiator yet he has few, if any, real legislative achievements.  He’s living by (and will ultimately die by) the same Executive Orders he mocked Obama over using and claimed their use made Obama ineffective.  He’s now touting many of the same economic numbers that he previously said were wrong or unrelated to the Presidency.  I don’t think he or many of his supporters even recognize his hypocrisy.

There’s no question in my mind that when he stays on script like on his foreign trips, he serves himself well, and largely gets positive press (relatively speaking).  Unfortunately, I believe he’s incredibly impulsive, petty, and childish, and it’s those traits that drive his childish name-calling and apparent need to respond to so many perceived slights not some master strategy or twelve- dimensional chess.  I believe this impulsive, petty, and childish behavior is ultimately hurting him, but I just don’t think he can help himself.  JMO.
I adore facts and data and abhor lies and liars.
