NFL steps into politics, fights tax cut bill with no stadium bond breaks
Washington Times, Nov 16, 2017, Jeff Mordock

The NFL has come out against House Republicans’ tax cut bill, putting the league out on a political limb even as it deals with the fallout from national anthem protests.

Other big pro sports leagues are staying out of the fight, but a spokesman for the National Football League said teams don’t want to lose a special tax break that allows them to use tax-free bonds to build stadiums.

The NFL says it deserves the break because new stadiums create jobs.

Why should the NFL get ANY special treatment at all?
"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

Enough, already. Used to be that if a team owner wanted a venue for his team, he built it himself. Sticking the taxpayers with the bill is ridiculous.

NFL tactics

1. Tell community that team is losing money unless a new venue is built.  If  new venue is not built franchise will move.
2. Frightened community ups property and sales tax to cow down to the franchise
3. New stadium is built, taxes are up.
4. 10 - 15 years later....Go to No. 1 Repeat, Wash, rinse, spin.

The NFL is a syndicate that should be prosecuted under RICO charges.
