BBC Forced To Withdraw Fake Sea Level Claims
November 13, 2017

By Paul Homewood

Readers may recall an item on the BBC World at One back in March about rising sea levels in Florida, when their correspondent claimed that:

1) Rising seas and flooding are turning Miami Beach into a modern day Atlantis, the city being submerged by water.

2) Sea levels at Miami are rising at ten times the global rate.

How could the sea level at one particular location be rising faster than the global rate?  Even assuming the seas were rising?

That apparently does happen and without subsistence. I don't know how. Not at the extremes claimed, though.

The seas have been rising since the end of the last ice age.

I don't claim to understand it but here is one explanation*:

To a some extent sea levels are local.  The configuration of the coastline, the seabed, differences in tide, islands off the coast, all kinds of variables.

A side note....if the seas were really rising as claimed, The Opera House is Sidney, Australia would have a wet interior.
