Excluding the impact of the hurricanes, industrial production rose 0.3% in October The numbers: Industrial production in October jumped 0.9%, the Federal Reserve reported Thursday. Economists polled by MarketWatch had forecasted a 0.6% gain.
There also were upward revisions to July, August and September readings.
Capacity utilization rose to 77% from 76.4% in September, compared to the 76.3% reading that economists forecasted.
