But they were anticipated by one famous actress 72 years ago, who went public without naming names but still excoriated the rampant sexual abuse that men in Hollywood attempted in an era where women were expected to be silent.Maureen O’Hara, arguably the most beautiful actress of that generation or any other, issued a statement to the Mirror in 1945, when she was 25, in which she decried the characterization of her as “a cold potato without sex appeal” by Hollywood producers and directors because she refused to let them paw her or kiss her . . .
