10 Essential Facts About Weight Loss Medication
If you have a lot of weight to lose, and diet and exercise alone haven't worked, prescription meds may give you the weight loss boost you need.

As with most medication, weight loss drugs come with risks.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved four drugs since 2012 that are designed to help obese adults shed some of their excess weight, but consumers' actual knowledge about the drugs varies greatly. Although weight loss results are modest, these drugs — Belviq (lorcaserin hydrochloride), Contrave (naltrexone hydrochloride and bupropion hydrochloride), Qsymia (phentermine and topiramate), and Saxenda (liraglutide) — “can give some patients an edge when it comes to losing weight, but they come with risks,” says Kim Gudzune, MD, MPH, assistant professor of medicine and an obesity expert at Johns Hopkins Medicine in Baltimore.

Sorry to be blunt but too much weight gain, anyone can make excuses, comes from a lack of dietary discipline.

The weight loss drugs can be harmful, and sooner or later, the odds are the same person doing nothing different than the drugs, without instilling dietary discipline within themselves, will still gain weight anyway in the long run.

There are many psychiatric drugs that have weight gain as the first side affect.

Adopt a puppy or kitty from your local shelter
