I once read about this fellow whose exercises included just laying on the floor and then, getting up over and over. That's pretty easy exercises but still something. That fits a bit into the body-weight exercises mentioned in the article. If one wants to go more intense, do it with weights, weighted vest, dumbbells, etc.  If one really wants to get into it, this is largely what the "Turkish Getup" exercise is. One can research that.
