Several have been left injured following a terror attack in Canada.

A car was deliberately driven at pedestrians outside an American football game in Edmonton.

The motorist drive at 'high speed' towards a police checkpoint outside the game.

He crashed through the barricade and hit a police officer sending him flying 15ft into the air.

The driver then jumped out and "viciously" attacked the injured officer, stabbing him several times, before running away.

Police chased down the attacker as he drove through the packed out streets in downtown Edmonton.
He then ploughed into four pedestrians leaving them with multiple injuries before he was arrested after flipping the van on to its side.
Edmonton Police Chief Rod Knecht said the incidents are being investigated “as an act of terror” and that the attacker acted alone.
The rented van had an ISIS flag in the front seat, he confirmed.
Dramatic photos showed the U-Haul on its side with the windscreen smashed out.
Witness Kim Anderson told the Edmonton Sun: "There were people flying and everything. I'm shocked - I just see people flying."

Police spokesman Scott Pattison said: “The officer was approached by an unknown male suspect in a vehicle, at which time the suspect rammed the police cruiser.

“The suspect got out of his vehicle and an altercation ensued.

"The officer sustained some injuries, he’s in hospital, and thankfully he’s doing OK.”

A huge road block was set up as police pursued the terror suspect during last night's attack.

The streets had been full of revellers packing out pubs to watch the football.

The stabbed cop had been working routine traffic control near Commonwealth Stadium as thousands gathered to watch a Canadian Football League game.

Canadian authorities say two incidents in Edmonton are being investigated as acts of terrorism after a man struck a police officer with a car before stabbing him and later plowed a truck into pedestrians on a busy street, injuring at least four people.

A suspect, who has not been identified, is in custody, said Chief Rod Knecht of the Edmonton Police Service in an early Sunday news conference.

Knecht said authorities believe the man acted alone, but haven't ruled out the possibility that others might be involved. There was an ISIS flag in the car, which has been seized as evidence, the police chief said.

Just before midnight, a police officer stopped a U-Haul truck at a checkpoint and recognized the driver's name as similar to that of the Chevrolet's registered owner. The U-Haul truck then sped off towards downtown Edmonton with police chasing it.

I think the question is when will the West stay awake?   People around the world are routinely jolted awake, but have a very difficult time staying this way.

Tell me once more why we cannot just ban all Muslims instead of suffering tragedies like this?

We have a clear enemy - radical Islam.

It cannot be stopped by any type of customary means.

It can ONLY be stopped by other Muslims.  If Muslims do not weed out those who wish us harm, we need to simply ban all Muslims.

I see no other solution.

The Islamists know this as well.
