Pro-Crime Policies in Big Cities Cause Upsurge in Crime

Anti-crime policies work. So do pro-crime policies.

Part of this is the Ferguson Effect. But it's not just the wave of political and violent attacks on police officers that began under Obama. It's the whole pro-crime agenda of "criminal justice reform" that focuses on freeing criminals and making it harder to lock them up. Like so many of today's bad ideas, these were tried in the seventies. And the results were exactly the same.

I remember when  they had the ten year national moratorium on the death penalty starting in 1967. IIRC, the violence and murder rate skyrocketed.  The "experts" assured us there was nothing we could do about it (the increase in violence) because we were breeding super-predators who could not be controlled. So we just had to live with it.
Except we didn't have to live with it.  After ten years we started snuffing out violent murderers again....remember Gary Gilmore?
That combined with locking up repeat violent offenders and keeping them there help cause a great drop in the violent crime rate.
I believe technology and better policing methods helped as well...i.e. Rudy Giuliani.
Nevertheless, those people who believe the DP is cruel and unusual have to answer to the families of the hundreds or thousands of people murdered by paroled killers over the decades.
