Not really.  But some of us want all the improvement we can get on Obamacare.

Then this isn't the legislation to pin your hopes to.

There's another article posted here though that they supposedly have some democrats voting for it.

Lindsay pushing it.  Some Democrats voting for it.  First and second clue.

I wonder if he could be reasoned into voting for it.

Not if he's worth his very libertarian salt, he won't

But Rand is like a lot of people on TBR ... whole cake or none.  Not even a crumb.

Those who rely upon principle see far. Bravo!

That is a damned lie and YOU know it!

Nope there's been countless posts on here...in this thread talking about how "it's not the greatest bill in the world...but we'll take what we can get and hope for the best."

And others trying to proclaim that "it's the best we can do"...while berating others who want these damn politicians to do what they promised to do if we sent them to Congress.  And that was full repeal of Obamacare.

Trying to convince people that we have to accept this bill that half measures and that simple rearranging the same pieces on the board is actually "reform" or "repeal" is the damn lie.

This won't fix anything...the GOP will now own Obamacare and the Dems will use that new GOP ownership of Obamacare to campaing in the midterms and in 2020 on...while advancing the ball for Single Payer...most likely with Trump's help.

To try and claim otherwise is the "damn lie".

OK, Carnac.

One does not need to be clairvoyant to project what is coming per past statements that Trump has made and his half-hearted efforts at campaigning and lobbying for full repeal of ObamaCare:

"If you can’t take care of your sick in the country, forget it, it’s all over. ... I believe in universal healthcare." - CNN 1999 on Larry King interview

"Our people are our greatest asset.  We must take care of our own.  We must have universal health care" - "The America We Deserve" - Donald J Trump
Fart for freedom, fart for liberty and fart proudly.  - Benjamin Franklin

...Obsta principiis—Nip the shoots of arbitrary power in the bud, is the only maxim which can ever preserve the liberties of any people. When the people give way, their deceivers, betrayers and destroyers press upon them so fast that there is no resisting afterwards. The nature of the encroachment upon [the] American constitution is such, as to grow every day more and more encroaching. Like a cancer, it eats faster and faster every hour." - John Adams, February 6, 1775

That much is true, and it's part of the reason Trump hasn't been pushing for any actual repeal plan, because he doesn't want it repealed.

But this nonsense that "if we pass anything, it'll absolve the Democrats of everything they did to get us to this point" is patently absurd. Of course the Democrats will try to deflect the blame and take the credit. They ALWAYS try to do that. They're doing it now even without a bill.

That's not the point.
By merely rearranging the seating arrangements and add ing a floral centerpiece, Republicans take possession of this socialist abortion.

If Democrats are *for* socialist takeover of our medical and insurance industry...
And Republicans are *for* socialist takeover of our medical and insurance industry...

Then who is there to be against it?

Obamacare hasn't blown up yet.

Like socialism, it often works great until its actual fruits come to bare but it takes time. It is the socialist in power when the music stops that is to blame, not those who set the course down the socialist road... Just ask Maduro...

Obamacare is going to blow up with or without Republican diddling around the edges. It is free stuff with someone else stuck with the bill.

After Republicans diddle with it and then it blows up it will be blamed on them. And they'll deserve it for being so stupid. But they aren't called the stupid party for nothin.

Not really.  But some of us want all the improvement we can get on Obamacare.

Before we criticize Rand Paul perhaps we should know why he won't vote for it.  The last one would have made insurance more expensive for Americans rather than less.  And if we cannot afford the rising cost of O care we can't afford a more expensive one.

Talk is cheap.  We could all follow in the footsteps of Nancy Pelosi and vote for something that we haven't read.
AG William Barr: "I'm recused from that matter because one of the law firms that represented Epstein long ago was a firm that I subsequently joined for a period of time."

Alexander Acosta Labor Secretary resigned under pressure concerning his "sweetheart deal" with Jeffrey Epstein.  He was under consideration for AG after Sessions was removed, but was forced to resign instead.
