Violence erupts during Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's speech in New York

Violence erupted between supporters and opponents of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during a speech in New York on Thursday.

Erdogan was speaking at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square when a few people in the audience began shouting.

Videos posted on social media show what appears to be a security guard punching an American protester and numerous people being beat up. It is unclear whether any of Erdogan's bodyguards were involved in the violence.

According to the New York Times, the New York Police Department reported that at about five protesters were "briefly" detained but not arrested. No injuries were reported to police.

This is the week of the UN General Assembly, that's why we are seeing all of these foreign heads of state there.

There is plenty to read up on, if one really cares too. Nato exercises are also currently going on and Turkey is involved.

In the video, some of the security, looks like American Security, if not for any other reason, in that it looks like some of those guys are black and then, I look closer, some look white.

The one protester gets hit on the head a few times leaving. Outrageous.
