BWAHAHA!! Leftist Magazine, Rolling Stone, Up For Sale

By Nick Kammer  |  September 19, 2017, 10:00am  |  @Nick_Kammer

Radical left-wing magazine/birdcage liner, Rolling Stone, is in serious financial difficulty.  Following a series of legal liabilities and incompetent business moves, the founder, Jann Wenner, and his son are putting their dumpster fire up for sale.

Once a legendary music publication, it evolved into a liberal mouthpiece for every progressive issue imaginable.  This isn’t surprising, considering Mr. Wenner founded the magazine in 1967 as a 21 year old hippie attending the University of California at Berkeley.

But the owners’ socialist tendencies aren’t stopping them from trying to make bank on their baby.  Mr. Wenner wants to sell to a buyer with “a lot of money” but also stay involved to continue running the company into the ground.  This is despite the fact the magazine has repeatedly praised Bernie Sanders’ socialism as well as condemned capitalism in the guise of an article slamming Goldman Sachs.

It's political views have been trash at least since 1976 I'd say. Quite a period of time. They have also upset a lot of musicians though, now, that seems like water under the bridge and now, they compliment those bands who they dissed in the pass, bands like Aerosmith for one I know.  Then, they end up rubber stamping approval for others, probably just as undeserved.

Rolling Stone defamation lawsuit over debunked rape story revived by federal court

The hits just keep on coming for Rolling Stone.

Just a day after publisher Wenner Media said the magazine is up for sale, a New York federal appeals court has revived a defamation lawsuit against Rolling Stone over its debunked 2014 article about a University of Virginia gang rape.

Judge Katherine Forrest of the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals decided that the lower court prematurely struck down claims from George Elias and Ross Fowler while correctly rejecting Stephen Hadford’s, according to The Hollywood Reporter. All three were former Phi Kappa Psi fraternity members and graduated from the school in 2013.

@Sanguine
It was good as a music magazine, once upon a time.

And any magazine that could have been co-founded with jazz critic Ralph J. Gleason, then published Hunter
Thompson (he was a leftie but an entertaining one), P.J. O'Rourke, and Tom Wolfe couldn't be all
that bad.

Oh, I agree.  There was a time I would even read it.  They should have stuck to what they do well.
