The BBC article was a bit sparse on facts but here is the young lady killed in Mexico, this problem shows up in a number of places in Latin America, even in Argentina and clearly, Honduras has had ths as well. Yet, we don't really see it with Hispanics in the US and that means the problem of "femicidio" as it is called, the killing of women. The BBC article shows one woman holding up a sign mentioning "Machismo" and that seems to be what this keys on. But why the problem here? It insults the culture.

Mara Fernanda Castilla, 19, was found dead on Friday, according to the Puebla state governor, Tony Gali. Her body had been abandoned in a ditch some 90 kilometres south-east of Mexico City.

I just don't get the scope of this; and it happening in all of these diverse places, it doesn't add up.
