I didn't mean the women themselves weren't real women. I'm saying their Bond characters weren't real compared to what Eva Green portrayed.

Loved  Diana Rigg as a Bond girl. She was great.

The below rates Diana Rigg as #1 Bond girl and Eva Green at #2. I'd reverse that but both were great and like @DB says they played real characters not just a pretty damsel in distress.

Okay gotcha, but I think it has a lot to do with the times, in the very beginning and for a long time after I think they stuck to Fleming's view of women and that was pretty much that they were for set decoration and to provide proof of Bond's manhood.

People didn't get the premise and clever writing.  Also, the timing was bad.  The show debuted 1 year after 9/11 and months prior to the Iraq invasion.  The public's mind was elsewhere.
