It couldn't be that he told the Europeans one thing and us something else right? Kind of like Obama being more flexible with the Russians after the election...

I'll wait and see what actually happens and not what he says. His word means zip to me.

Maybe because THIS?

The U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee passed a spending bill on Thursday evening that includes $10 million to help fund the United Nations’ climate change body that oversees the Paris Climate Agreement

A little bit more DACA deja vu.

The Oligarchy is calling the shots now.

And like DACA - they want the Paris Accords implemented.

And now for Something completely different.

One month after leaving Paris climate accord, Trump pulls out of Treaty of Versailles
by Joe Zieja

WASHINGTON — Continuing his trend of pulling the United States out of longstanding agreements, President Donald Trump today signed an executive order officially pulling the US out of the Treaty of Versailles “just in case,” Duffel Blog has learned.

“As of today,” Trump said in a statement, “America will no longer participate in the draconian and economically harmful stipulations of the Treaty of Versailles — which is really close to Paris, by the way, it’s like a suburb — and will instead focus on what really won the first world war: coal.”

The six remaining coal miners in the United States were seen high-fiving each other in the audience.

“I’m kind of an authority on pulling out. Very good at it. The best,” Trump continued. “The nations that are asking us to stay in the treaty are the same nations that collectively cost America trillions of dollars in stopping world domination. You see what’s happening. You see. And besides, the Germans never invaded Pittsburgh.”

"There has been no change in the United States' position on the Paris agreement," White House spokeswoman Lindsay Walters said. "As the President has made abundantly clear, the United States is withdrawing unless we can re-enter on terms that are more favorable to our country."

What difference do the terms make?  The agreement premise is absurd.

That statement says we are still in it "the US is withdrawing UNLESS..."  So we are still in it.  As to Trump - His words about anything are just words, they mean nothing and will change the next day or the next tweet.

Others have pointed out that we never really withdrew, just sent notice that we intended to withdraw.  But the Trump supporters love to add it to the list of great and powerful things done by their Wiz.

So I guess the Wall Street Journal can now be listed alongside CNN, Breitbart and every other source of information that has anything construed to be a negative about Trump - as fake news.

I guess the real trick is that the ONLY news that is not fake, is whatever comes out of Trump's mouth or Twitter feed, depending on the moment it is given.

There does seem to be a reflex among some Trump supporters to label any uncomfortable news as fake.

I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

After the obvious screeching left turn by DJT of late,  I thought we would finally get to see some buyers remorse from the TBR Orangeites.

Wow......   what a bunch of lemmings.

Sorry, no link, but I seem to recall that after the big announcement of the US withdrawal from the Paris agreement, there was a report that Trump was contemplating trying to renegotiate the deal.  Then the story seemed to disappear from the news.  I noticed that Trump supporters stopped listing the withdrawal from the Paris accord as one of Trump's accomplishments.

Don't know if this particular story is true, but given Trump's penchant for smoke and mirrors, I wouldn't be surprised if it is.  Never could trust Trump and the events of late seem to validate my mistrust.

When so much of the news today has been exposed as fake, how can anyone tell what is true and what is false? As far as I know, each of us rely on second, third, fourth hand accounts, some of it on its face unreliable. Unless you're an on the spot reporter yourself, each of us bring our biases to interpreting political news.
