Quote
What is the difference between a leftist and a liberal?

Answering this question is vital to understanding the crisis facing America and the West today. Yet few seem able to do it. I offer the following as a guide.

Here's the first thing to know: The two have almost nothing in common.

A distinction without a difference, at least at the polls.

This article is well worth the time to read it.

American "Conservatism," in the Goldwater-Reagan Eras would be quick to admit it was based on Classic Liberalism.

But it became expedient to trash the term Liberal since it was how democrats described themselves. And trashing them at the time worked. "Liberal" became a dirty word, to conservatives.

Therefore democrats picked up on the term "Progressive" and use it until today.

Prager is a very smart guy. He is right about this. Once in a while, people like Reagan come along, that can get these types of points across, in just a few words, and WIN CONVERTS.

But those types of people, are few and far between.

Trump is NOT the type to dwell on definitions. I believe he would opt to let results speak for themselves.

If your army needs a bridge built across the valley or the river, the bridge builder needs to step forth, and leave the philosophical debates, to the debaters.

Addendum:

This thoughtful article and thread get no attention, while this site views some idiot calling Trumps supporters communists (1917) and fascists (1930).

It seems this is what Prager dwells on, talking about the "left", great guy, good show but it's not as topical as some others.

@Oceander

So you've decided to maintain your irrelevance.

How's that wall going?  And DACA repeal?  DACA wasn't legislation so you can't blame Trump's failure on Congress.

Maybe if your boy was a bit more of a thinker, a bit more of a philosopher, he might not have made quite so many juvenile mistakes.
