German man breaks world record for most beer mugs held at same time

A German man broke the record for highest number of beer mugs carried at once over a distance of 40 meters Sunday.

Oliver Strümpfel, a Bavarian tax inspector, carried 29 full, liter-size glasses that collectively weighed almost 154 pounds at the Gillamoos Fair in Abensberg, one of Bavaria's oldest beer festivals.

Strümpfel, 45, tried to carry 31 of the mugs, but one fell and another lost more than 10 percent of its beer content, which made it inadmissible in the final tally.
