If you are a conservative or even just lean in that direction it is insane to not vote GOP. Take RINOs out in the primaries if possible then vote GOP in the general. Anything other than that is crazy. Particularly in Senate races, six years is a long time and a Rat senator can do a lot of damage in six years.

You made us enemies.  Good job.

You made yourself enemies when you refused to join the battle to keep the witch out of the White House. Congrads you are now politically irrelevant. As a movement no one cares what NeverTrumpers think or what NeverTrumpers want.

With McCain you have a very good point, I could not bring myself to vote Amnesty McCain in 08, just could not do it. Susan Collins might be the best we can hope for from a liberal NE state. At least she will vote to confirm conservative judges, no Rat would ever to that.

Then we have absolutely nothing in common to talk about.

It is beyond idiotic that you would think that advancing a Conservative agenda involved voting for a lifelong NY Liberal Democrat as better than voting for another lifelong Democrat residing in NY.

We're done practicing insanity.  We don't vote for liberals.  PERIOD.

If that makes us irrelevant, enjoy the Socialist Democracy you created for yourselves.

If that makes us "irrelevant" in this country's decline into oblivion, so be it.  If that makes us enemies, then so be it.

Wide is the Gate that leads to destruction.

You keep choosing it.

Narrow is the path to liberty and what is right.

Those who take that path are always hated by those who march with the mob demanding the herd all head off the cliff.

The Republican Party is not just a waste of time, they have been taken over in total by the Liberal/Left.
and I presume the selection of Neil Gorusch is proof of that statement?

We have yet to see how he is going to rule on key issues.

I think he was a bone tossed to Conservatives to get us to shut up while Trump reneges on everything else and goes NY Liberal Left.

For some, that is all that mattered - SCOTUS.  Because they have surrendered to the belief that 8 or 9 justices in Black Robes are the final arbiters of what is allowed and what is not allowed in this country to set the balances based on political ideology rather than the Constitution.

Thank you.  I couldn't remember who it was that had the list that proved Trump was a conservative.  Too bad conservatives are irrelevant.

No.  You can stand beside the cop car with your black eyes, telling the officer you don't want to press charges and you want to give him another chance.  I won't do that.

The GOP just got done lying to your face for seven years because they knew some would crawl back no matter what.  To them, you're a joke.

Seven GOP senators lied, forty-five voted to repeal. Zero Democrats in the Senate voted to repeal. While I did not look into the details the GOP House passed a repeal bill.

One of our stops on vacation was the Little Big Horn National Monument. One of the sections was a tribute to the Native American tribes that fought Custer. One panel struck a chord with me, where Custer pledged to a Cheyenne chief that he would never take up arms against the Cheyenne. He broke that pledge at Little Big Horn, and the rest is history.

The GOP has broken many pledges over the years, and this last fiasco with Obamacare appeal should be a deathknell for this party that has no honor remaining. Trump is serving to be the vessel of the GOP's destruction, hastening the process. I see nothing emerging from the ashes, as far too many TEA Party leaders used that platform for enriching themselves.

Don't be naive,  they just picked the ones to 'take one for the team.'    There would have been others, but their votes weren't needed.

Move it where?

Anywhere away from a corrupted and apostate party.

The Republican Party today reminds me of several church institutions and congregations that began to water down their doctrines and beliefs.  Their core foundations were discarded until they abandoned the scriptures and their core doctrines altogether in order to appease and attract the worldly into their membership.  However, instead of transforming those who came into their fold, they were transformed by the world, and wholesale abandoned sound doctrine and scripture to embrace a 'larger view of social justice'.

They called it pragmatic in a changing time.  The first thing Jesus warned the Disciples of in Matthew 24 is not to be deceived.  II Timothy 3 discusses such a time.  But deceived they became and they set out to deceive their own members.

Leadership and their supporters attempted to browbeat their old-time members into staying in their fold by asking them "where will you go?"

If that did not assuage the complaints, then via threats of hellfire and consignment into the void for disagreeing with the leadership and discussing leaving "the one true church".  Sermons were given to mandate obedience to church government and unity, and those who were upset at the adoption of heresy were told to shut up or be disfellowshipped.

They became an apostate and heretical church altogether, no longer resembling what was once their core purpose and reason for being.  The old-timers left, or were corrupted into abandoning their doctrinal faith for the new heretical teachings.  But most left and went elsewhere, started home fellowships or new congregations.  They are small, scattered but they are growing because their congregations are healthier and their brethren are united on core principles.  There are a lot of them, and they are having a more direct impact on their communities than their former larger churches ever had.

Meanwhile, the churches they left behind, shrank and were abandoned by the very people and agendas they catered to.  Most of them shut their doors altogether or folded themselves into Unitarian or other Social justice churches and the few who remain have attendances of less than 20 people each week.

Where will Conservatives go?  Where must we move?

Away from an apostate party, lest your own core principles of limited government and Constitutional adherence is corrupted and you accept liberalism and ideas anathema to liberty as your standard.

Yes but, let not your heart be troubled.

Just like those Churches, change is inevitable. The leadership of the GOP is very old. They simply can't live forever.

John McCain is a harbinger of change to come. Good or Bad? Remains to be seen. But just through the laws of physics, we will see a dramatic change in both parties over the next few years.

Someone once said something like "if we don't hang together surely we will all hang separately"  and so it shall be!

That works when you just signed your name to a piece of parchment that earned an automatic death penalty.

The Colonies did not hang together with the Crown once it was seen to be a tyranny and apostate to the very rights of Englishmen they thought they deserved to be enjoyed and recognized.

Hanging together in the midst of corruption will corrupt everything and everyone.  A little leaven, leavens the entire loaf.

You have to scatter the seed if you want to grow a healthy crop.  Keeping it all in one spot and thinking it will produce the yield you want is a recipe for blight and stunted crops.

No, 5-7 Senators did that. Period. If conservatives want better results, they must be careful to focus on reality, not just run their mouths with inane rhetoric.

There are 52 GOP Senators, and 45 did what you wanted and expected.

This thread is proof of my position, that some (many?) conservatives are math and logic challenged.

The point I  was attempting to make, perhaps unsuccessfully,  is that the republicans are going to pay dearly for their failure to hang together on the obamacare repeal.  I'm SO done with them!

Events of the last twelve months have fully removed ALL the scales from my eyes .
