Yeah, following record setting winter rain/ snow in the nearby Sierras. That is normal, over the long haul.

Look up the climate category for LA and you discover it is "Mediterranean," with little/no summer rainfall.

Just a handful of global places with that category, incl. South Africa, Australia and Chilean coasts, and of course the Mediterranean too.

Too bad Western PA can't  package some of its rainfall and send it to LA.   Have had rain nearly every day since May.  Plenty of flooding.

You ain't got anything on New Orleans.  Moved there in January one year, and it seemed it rained every day until sometime in May.  Had over 100 inches by then.  And that rain come down hard, not the small stuff. 

It's where the term 'pouring rain' must come from.
