CAR rebels launch brutal war against children

KINSHASA, (CAJ News) – ARMED groups are increasingly murdering, abducting,raping and recruiting children during renewed fighting in the lawless Central African Republic (CAR).
In several recent incidents in the eastern Bria, militants raped 14 girls aged nine to 16 years while the minors had left refugee camps to travel home for their personal belongings.Many crimes of sexual violence continue to go unreported.

In another incident in Bangassou in the southeast, five children aged between two and 16 years were brutally killed while attempting to cross the Oubangui River to seek refuge in Democratic Republic of Congo.
