On Monday morning, President Trump defended his decision to allow his daughter, Ivanka, to sit in his spot at
the G20 summit by pointing to — you guessed it — the Clinton family. Because the 2016 campaign will apparently never
end, Trump always has the Clinton cudgel to wield against his political opposition, and he used it with aplomb in
retaliation for media complaints about his obvious nepotism . . . Chelsea Clinton soon shot back . . . As always, Chelsea
didn’t quite hit the mark.

First off, it would certainly have occurred to Hillary Clinton to ask for her daughter’s help. After all, the Clintons renamed
their foundation to include Chelsea’s name, despite her signal lack of accomplishment. There were serious rumors that
in case of a Hillary win, Chelsea would take over the First Lady role. Chelsea rode her parents’ last name to a paid position
at NBC — and she was so awful on air that the network paid her to stay off the air. Now she’s using her last name to
remain relevant in the political world.

Second, Chelsea should be careful about accusing Trump of “giving our country away.” After all, the Clintons allegedly
used their Foundation as a cash center, trading donations for favors from Hillary even as Hillary served as Secretary of
State.

But Democrats, in desperate search for leadership, continue to cling to Chelsea as a last gasp hope. And Trump, in
desperate need of a chew toy, continues to cling to the Clintons as a last resort. So long as the Clintons remain the
Clintons, it will continue to work.
