Quite a jump, I know, from Zevon to Staind.

I miss Warren, He wrote this after he learned of his prognosis.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RMTKb-pgxGI

He actually wrote and recorded that one right at the very end, when he couldn't make 8t to the studio so it was recorded at his home.
I think I'll add that to my Deadman switch.

Birthday Related, Roy Bargy, orchestra director, pianist. Also, orchestra director on the Jimmy Durante show: http://www.onthisday.com/music/birthdays.php
He hired on with Durante during Durante's radio years, including the legendary Durante-Moore Show with

Terry Jacks came up somehow not to long ago, I'm not a fan of "Seasons in the Sun" but the related act, Poppy Family, I thought had a good pop hit with this one.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terry_Jacks

Following The Chessmen, Terry and Susan Pesklevits (Susan Jacks), whom he later married, formed The Poppy Family along with Craig McCaw and Satwant Singh

Richard Simmons would use this for one of his dancing to the oldies exercise videos. Nice catchy tune as well, imo.

I agree, it is very good.

Thank you for all of the extra notes and details you provide.

It sounds very late '60s-ish indeed.

We surely miss a number of songs...

Not half as strange as what happened to Red Buttons's career. He screwed himself out of television
stardom when his first TV show was a first-season smash---by becoming an on-set tyrant who
alienated every one of his writers and cast. He went down almost as fast as he rose. Lucky for
him, he bagged that Oscar for Sayonara and then became a frequent television guest
before making a distinguished film career as a character actor.

The Stars on 45 rendition in post #1 for Gary Lewis and the Playboys, is not very good and the band needs to get their due. They had a number of good songs,

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LN4NHdvPbZM

Along with of course, "This diamond ring", "just my style" and "green grass".

I know I've posted this before, but thought I'd share it again. Jazzy rendition of this song.
