Passenger throws coins into plane engine
'This is not a wish fountain with turtles'

You’ve probably seen people tossing coins in a fountain for good luck, but throwing change into the engine of an airplane you’re boarding seems a little counterproductive.

But that’s exactly what an elderly woman did as she “prayed for safety” for her China Southern Airlines flight from Shanghai to Guangzhou, China, on Tuesday.

I know some people believe it's good luck to though a new penny in a new car, so the car will never run up bills, or to put anew penny in a brand new handbag or wallet so you will always have money in it.

My maternal grandma believed these old wives tales.

She also believed if you were stuck at a red traffic light, hold your breath, count to ten , and make. Wish

If the light then turned green your wish will come true.

This may get me flamed but those action are no different than attempted witchcraft to me.

Well,grandma has been gone since 82 so I can't ask her about why she believed these old wives tales. It must have been something she learned from her mom who came from the old country via Ellis Island when she was a young girl.

I don't step on sidewalk cracks. Don't want to break my mothers back.

People are funny.

My doubles partner in tennis refuses to touch the scorecards on the changeovers, but she seems pretty well-adjusted otherwise.
