You get them voted out, and all you get is more Democrats in their place...

You mean, sort of like taking out ad buys against one of your own who disagrees with something that'll give the President a "win" no matter how unwelcome?

You're right. Good plan. Reeeeeeaaly good plan there.

So, putting those who gave us a majority based on a promise should not be held to it (because that will swing control to the Dems), but actively campaigning against those who are willing to keep their promises is a good thing.

The Reps won those swing seats because the people don't want 0care.  They're not going to keep them by doing the opposite.

Makes no difference at all really, based on the fruits of the last 5 years.

The GOP has done more to fund and promote Obama's agenda, justify Statism and snatch defeat from the jaws of victory while attacking, insulting and holding their Conservative base in contempt than the Democrats have theirs. In other words, the party as a whole is not as conservative as you are...which of course...makes it wildly liberal in your eyes. Apparently, you've no clue what genuine liberalism is...because nobody who had such a clue would make such an absurd comparison. The party, by any impartial measure, is center-right...admittedly not as solidly right as we'd all like it to be.

Your attempt to frighten us with the portents of what happens if the GOP should lose power has no sting. We,
as Americans, SHOULD all be frightened by what will happen if the extreme Left...and that is what the Dems are now...seizes power again. No doom and gloom picture I can paint could do justice to what that reality would be like. I think we'd face little short of the criminalization of conservative ideals as "hate speech", and yes that terrifies me. Which is why I am fighting it like a cornered Hyena...and it frustrates the hell out of me when some are content to just sit and watch as this happens.
The GOP is as complicit as the Democrats in making Socialism our permanent ideological form of government.Again, a ludicrous notion that belies every known fact of the two parties. The GOP, like all political parties, is deeply flawed...but it is vastly different in its methods, goals and ideals than is the Far Left. A blind ostrich in a haboob could see it plain as day...so open your damn eyes.

Your party simply demonstrates that they think they can manage that Socialism and Statism better than the Democrats. Just because something is a popular cliche', does not make it true. Quit borrowing intellectually vacuous catch phrases and THINK. If you can't see the wide gulf that separates Left from Right in this country, and yes that rift plays out between the GOP and the Dems, than you are deliberately hiding from it.

No, because the districts the president is referring to are solidly conservative...primary out an incumbent and get some fresh conservative blood that will still win the district. And yes, that plan will generate more willingness in the party to support the President's plans...and those plans are why the American people put him in the White House. Now, all that said, I'd prefer we put all of our focus on pursuing Dem seats and increasing our majority...but again, that will require having some moderate Republicans win in center to Left districts.

Except Heller isn't in the Freedom Caucus....and Trump is currently working with guys like Cruz, Paul and other Freedom Caucus members to lay out acceptable amendments to the Health Care Repeal/Replace bill. Cruz, in fact, just came up with a fantastic amendment AND has been clear that he's working hard to get the bill to something he will vote for. The president WILL of course, spend money to work against ANY members who are impeding the conservative agenda he is engaged in making into law...things like border walls, lower taxes, replacing Obamacare, fewer business regulations, crushing the idiotic climate agreements, ending bad trade deals, and nominating a whole rasher of conservative justices from the Supreme Court on down.

Kudos, Mr. President...he'd be a fool not to fight back against an establishment seeking to undermine him...and yes, guys like Heller ARE the establishment.

You're perzackly correct about Heller.  Heller opposes the bill because he wants the gummint to spend more a lot more money on Medicaid.

I think we'd face little short of the criminalization of conservative ideals as "hate speech", and yes that terrifies me.

You go ahead and shake in a corner in fear and pretend that the mighty GOP is going to save you from the Leftist Agenda that they themselves think they can manage better than the Democrats.

Statism-lite is still Statism, and I will not support anyone or any party that thinks they should compromise with it after making promises to oppose it and to repeal it "root and branch".  That haven't even made serious attempts to do so since they "won" power.

Which is why I am fighting it like a cornered Hyena...and it frustrates the hell out of me when some are content to just sit and watch as this happens.

Your party told us to suck up, vote the way they tell us, shut up about Conservatism or get out.

So we're out.

Your party acolytes and Trump supporters declared us a bigger enemy to fight than the agenda they pretend to be at war with.

So you are on your own.

Have fun battling the Hyenas with your pretend 'center-right' party that thinks they can manage Socialism better than the Democrats.  We have made other plans.

The GOP, like all political parties, is deeply flawed...but it is vastly different in its methods, goals and ideals than is the Far Left.

I no longer find a difference between them and I'm not going to wait for them to wise-up and play the role of battered wife any longer.  The GOP is not a Conservative party - and probably never was to begin with except when Reagan brought us all in.  But he is gone and your party decreed his era and principles to be over - so your party left me a long time ago - and I've finally had enough and am supporting a Conservative party elsewhere.

Quit borrowing intellectually vacuous catch phrases and THINK.

Your party leadership in it's statements and actions has of itself made that 'popular cliché a truth that thinking people actually recognize and party hacks refuse to see.

When your party is refusing to repeal ObamaCare via varying excuses and openly suggesting Single Payer, there is no difference between the GOP and the Democrats.  Only the degree with which they intend to impose Socialism.  As I see it, one side promises to use lube and be gentle while the other will go in rough and dry.  Something we Taxpayers and Producers have been taking up the wazoo for decades.

I'm done with practicing insanity.  Time for something different.

Fart for freedom, fart for liberty and fart proudly.  - Benjamin Franklin

...Obsta principiis—Nip the shoots of arbitrary power in the bud, is the only maxim which can ever preserve the liberties of any people. When the people give way, their deceivers, betrayers and destroyers press upon them so fast that there is no resisting afterwards. The nature of the encroachment upon [the] American constitution is such, as to grow every day more and more encroaching. Like a cancer, it eats faster and faster every hour." - John Adams, February 6, 1775

You are assuming - again - that the conservative votes in that district are somehow "owed" to the candidate put up. Don't know about you, but most conservatives I know get more pissed off with outsiders trying to mess with their candidates than they do with the candidates themselves.

  • I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.
We live in a Constitutional Republic.

"Good, More Democracy Means More Socialism." Nikita Khrushchev

Can't count the times I've seen 'Conservative' Columnists make complete asses of themselves referring to America as "Our Democracy"

It's Disgusting.

Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
