The murder in College Park, Maryland of Richard Collins III, an African-American student who had recently been commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army and was days away from his graduation from Bowie State University, underscores the violence of America’s far-right wing. Sean Urbanski, the University of Maryland student who allegedly stabbed Collins to death, belongs to a racist Facebook group called Alt-Reich: Nation.

It makes sense that the FBI is helping the police investigate this incident as a suspected hate crime. But my 15 years experience of studying violent extremism in Western societies has taught me that dealing effectively with far-right violence requires something more: treating its manifestations as domestic terrorism.

While attacks such as the recent suicide bombing in Manchester that left 22 people dead and several dozen injured will probably continue to garner more headlines, this growing domestic menace deserves more attention than it’s getting.

Since the story is headed with a picture of the idiot who killed two people on a train in Oregon (who is a Berniebro, about as far from the right as you can get), this is worth reading only for the attempt to shift the narrative. Don't expect fact or reason.

Bleh. This piece of Commie filth has been pedaling this garbage for years. He is the one who was getting the Obama admin to push this narrative.

The whole "domestic terrorism" thingy has been around since the Clintons were trying to cover up Waco. No matter how hard they push it, it pales in comparison to the damage done by Muslims in this century alone, and people like the Weathermen and the Unabomber get conveniently left out of the discussion.

There are some crazies from every part of the political spectrum, and some are violent, but will they start labeling religious fundamentalists (Muslims) who converted here and then did their deed as "Right winged domestic terrorists", knowing full well how that will land on Conservatives?

The left-wing, racist mobs who burned parts of Fergusson and Baltimore most recently were also terrorists, where's the onus on that? Somehow "civil unrest" doesn't cut it; there is nothing "civil" in looting and burning businesses and homes.

Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
