Kushner wanted secure line with Kremlin before inauguration: report
By Olivia Beavers - 05/26/17 07:32 PM EDT

Jared Kushner reportedly talked with a top Russian official in early December about establishing a private communications channel between President Trump's transition team and the Kremlin.

The president's son-in-law and senior adviser inquired about using Russian diplomatic facilities for the communications, apparently to shield the talks, U.S. officials briefed on intelligence reports told The Washington Post.

Every administration has informal communications channels.  It would be stupid not too.

And they do it all though legal and official means.

They do not try to do it in a way that circumvents the law.

Nice try.

Really? Which law was being circumvented?

They knew Obama and crew were spying on them...and leaking the content of conversations. Setting up back channels of communication with Russia to avoid that is perfectly reasonable...and common practice.

This might be the biggest "so what" of the entire Russia-Trump canard thus far. A president elect can have as many secret communications as he wants...with whomever he chooses. There is not an iota of illegality about...an entirely ethical and reasonable thing to do.

But feel free to cite what law you assert was broken by this....can't wait to hear this idiocy.

"Using Russian diplomatic facilities"????   What kind of grotesque idiocy is this?  Even I'm beginning to fear there is more to this Russian stuff than DNC sour grapes.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof.  Before you get to demand proof from anyone else you first have to prove that this is par for the course for the typical incoming administration as you've claimed it is.  If you cannot, then you're full of Orange you-know-what.

Because the claim stated is way outside the bounds of reasonableness.  You lot would have been lighting up the torches and sharpening the pitchforks if the incoming Obama administration had tried this trick back in 2008.  You would have been correct then; you aren't now.

If this is true, it makes Kushner look really bad and makes Trump look both stupid and incompetent at the same time.

Your statement that all communications with foreign governments only goes thru formal channels is just pure nonsense.  Why would doubters need to prove anything.  That's like having to prove water is wet.

What did Trump do his first day in office.  He called the leaders of other countries.  Informal communications occur at all layers of govt and have since our country was founded.

Why was Jared Kushner trying to establish covert communications with the Russians through Russian diplomatic facilities?

That is not SOP for an incoming American administration.  It does, however, smell to high Heaven of an administration that has things to hide from the American people.

Holy ass-backwards Batman!

YOU have to prove wrongdoing first....YOU are making the extraordinary claim, not me. If you are going to suggest wrongdoing or that this was illegal...prove it. Its not everyone else's job, including the White House, to disprove a mirage. Using the Russian embassy to communicate outside of the Obama surveillance system is perfectly rational if you don't want O and crew to leak every word uttered...and guess what...its perfectly legal. So, again, where is the illegality?

Why was Jared Kushner trying to establish covert communications with the Russians through Russian diplomatic facilities? Because the normal channels were being spied on by the Obama administration, Sherlock.

That is not SOP for an incoming American administration.  First: Prove it.    Second: This would be the first time we know of that the outgoing administration has gone on a 24/7 spying binge on the incoming administration...so a new situation isn't going to fit an old SOP.It does, however, smell to high Heaven of an administration that has things to hide from the American people. That's a childish supposition supported by...well...as always...nothing.

Considering all of the intentional leaking and sabotage going on by the idiot left AND their willing accomplices ( *****rollingeyes*****)....

it kinda makes sense to have such informal communications channels set up.  No doubt that would piss off the idiot left AND their willing accomplices ( *****rollingeyes*****) to no end.

I say.... go for it!!!
