BERKELEY – According to the local Berkeley newspaper, East Bay Times,
Eric Clanton, who is known as the infamous bike lock attacker, was arrested Wednesday afternoon in Oakland.
Eric Clanton, 28, was a former Diablo Valley College
professor who joined a local Berkeley Antifa faction and later became radicalized. His prominent appearance came when he showed up to, what’s now called the ‘battle for berkley,’ on April 15th and viciously attacked various Trump supporters. One Trump supporter in particular, Sean Stiles, was
bashed in the head with a bike lock by Clanton, causing a concussion and several stitches.
According to county records, Eric Clanton was being held on a $200,00 bail bond after he was booked into Berkeley county jail Wednesday evening. Clanton was picked up for suspicion of using a firearm during a felony with an enhancement clause and assault with a non-firearm deadly weapon.
Berkeley Police have not confirmed that any connection between Clanton’s arrest and accusations within the last month about the attack with the bike lock on Sean Stiles at the April 15th battle for Berkeley.
No date is listed right now for arraignment hearings.
