With the scandal du jour of the Comey memo, President Donald Trump’s trip to Saudi Arabia looks less like a diplomatic flight as fleeing the jurisdiction. For the first time, the Comey memo pushes the litany of controversies surrounding Trump into the scope of the United States criminal code.

However, if this is food for obstruction of justice, it is still an awfully thin soup. Some commentators seem to be alleging criminal conduct in office or calling for impeachment before Trump completed the words of his inaugural oath of office. Not surprising, within minutes of the New York Times report, the response was a chorus of breathless “gotcha” announcements. But this memo is neither the Pentagon Papers nor the Watergate tapes. Indeed, it raises as many questions for Comey as it does Trump in terms of the alleged underlying conduct.

Impeachment is not meant to be an alternative for criminal cases that cannot be submitted to a grand jury. It is also not meant to be politics by other means. Finally, it is not a vehicle to redo an election for those with morning-after regrets. Ironically, for those who charge that Trump has compromised the legal system, the same objection can be made over demands for criminal charges or impeachment based on his still undisclosed memo.

The leftists are moist-dreaming that if they create enough faux scandals and overblown "bombshell gotchas" via their 24/7 media assault ..... they can create the illusion among voters that Trump is impeachable.   They are crafting the meme and the PR nightmare that they hope (dream) will bring down Trump and the GOP ..... first in 2018 and then again in 2020.  It won't work (I don't think)....but since when has reality ever stopped the rabid left in America from trying ANY thing?

It's their standard game of 'throw constant crap and hope enough of it sticks'.  Problem is.... most sane Americans already know how deceitful this lamestream media is and has been for decades.

This is simply to take the focus off the real issues.   If he's playing defense and changing his staff then he won't be pushing for a repeal of Obamacare or the wall, or anything else they don't want him to do.

The NYT hadn't even seen the memo.  They simply talked with a guy who claimed to have seen the memo.

Here's the problem as I see it:

1) The media wants us to get upset about a memo nobody has even seen. Just like they wanted us up in arms about Russia and a host of other stuff... with no proof.

2) Trump is too stupid to see this apparently, and makes the situation worse by lying, or attacking on Twitter.

IMO Cruz is fundamentally a good guy.  I mean aside from his father who likes to be involved with Presidential assassinations.

He's a facts and figures guy.   That comes across as stuffy and boring in the media.  Trump is all fluff, easy to put that across in 15 seconds.
