Have you seen it and what are your thoughts? I'm currently obsessed with The Crown and highly recommend it.

I've seen them both.

I enjoyed Medici; although quite a bit of license was taken.  The sequel is going to come out, next year I believe, that will be about the grandson.

The Crown is excellent. A good illustration of the quality of material on Netflix and Amazon.

It is.  I watched it again the other night as I enjoyed it that much.

Watching it right now.

Starting episode 4 (of 8)

Very good.

I laughed when Cosimo went "trickle down" economics in holding back their tidings to Rome and instead funding the unfinished dome.

And his father Giovanni (Dustin Hoffman) was certainly a capitalist.  Albrizzi is a Socialist Commie Anarchist.

It's not as good as The Last Kingdom.  That rocked.

The only things we keep DirectTV for are college and pro football. It's something that both my husband and I really enjoy. The cooking channel is now basically all fill-in-the-blank challenge and the history channel is now basically scripted antiquing and/or gator killing. They were both my go to channels in the kitchen while cooking. Even with our young kids if I absolutely had to turn on TV I could put on the history channel and at least know that the content was academically worth, but not at all now. We have a jailbroken Fire stick and if it works out for football season, we're telling cable and satellite, "Bye, Felicia!"

Thanks! I just ran out of content for my treadmill HIIT. Now I have a new reason to sweat. Yeah, I really hate exercise.

How well does yours work?  I generally have to reboot mine three times to get anything working that I need the *ahem* "jailbreak" to watch.

I finished the Tudors on the elliptical.  My iPad and Netflix is the only way I can get through an hour and a half of workout a day.  Netflix makes the time fly and actually enjoyable.  I only watch the series if I am on the elliptical.  It motivates me to get on it so that I can find out what happens next!

We havemt had any problems except Internet speed. We currently have a cheap plan. If we get access to what we need, the upgraded Internet speed will be worth it.

My resting heart rate is in the mid sixties and I'm a female in my upper fifties.  My heart rate jumped up to 213 when I tried it. Scared the wits out of me.  I decided to stick to the elliptical keeping my heart rate around 135 to 140.  My heart rate is so darned slow for my age that I have to work out a long time to burn the calories I want to burn.  Netflix makes it possible as I do it in the evening when I'd probably be watching Netflix anyway.  I just do it on the elliptical as opposed to lounging on the sofa or in bed.

Or maybe get rid of the heart rate monitor?  I'm healthy.  Probably a mistake to live by what the thing says.  Do you use one?

I don't. I'm kind of over what experts claim and just do what experience shows works best for me. You know, coffee and eggs were bad but now they aren't.

I've done the same with eating.  I think I'll ask the doc what he thinks of 213 and if I can just ignore it.  I miss the days pre-bpm when ignorance was bliss.

My intent here for the thread was to not only alert those that may be interested, but that I'm so intrigued by that the history thus far.

I recall watching an episode of Ancient Aliens, that said that the Black Death was brought by visitors from the sky in Medici, which was a very prosperous city.

I took liberty and I yield to you and would hope you would give us/me a lesson on what "..license was taken".

I watched a version of the OK Corral on the Western Channel the other day, starring Henry Fonda as Wyatt..Victor Mature as Doc Holliday...where Holliday 'dies' in the gunfight there.

Which isn't true.

So if you'd like, I'm all ears.    ^-^

I don't mind a little creative license as long as the producer admits it. When they butcher history while claiming purity I get ticked.

For other Netflix fans, it looks like "Arrested Development 5" will be out this year.
