We have ventured so far from the good life (from Torah), that it can no longer even be conceived.

If there is a choice between screwing through a hole in a sheet and living to 100 or participating in BDSM with a kinky chick and getting stage 4 cancer.......I'll take the cancer.

Where do you get that God killed them? Miscarriages are not an act of God. They are part of nature. Babies aren't miracles. We know what causes them.

If you want a Biblical answer, miscarriages are a natural result of the Fall of Man.

So you think that miscarriages just started happening recently?

So you think modernity just started happening?

Quote
And the reason they are equal with abortion is the abortion rate falling.

Well aren't we just great.

Quote
Sure, I believe there are many things in modern living causing problems.  I believe that we haven't fully investigated the synergistic effects of contaminants -- risk calculations are done on a per-contaminant basis.  There are contaminants of emerging concern that we don't fully understand.  There are physical things that cause chemical changes within us.  Emotional stresses that hurt our bodies.  Etc.

Meanwhile, people who live in the dirt and handle things that would make you squirm, are healthier than you are - without any navel gazing or scientific proclamations whatsoever.

Quote
But the fact is, if you believe souls are imparted at conception, God has killed a great number of babies before they were born.  If a person did that, we'd call him a murderer.

That assumes the breath of life belongs to the created. It does not. It is HIS breath, it is HIS body, not yours. It is his to give, and to take away, and often the reasons confound us.

And it also assumes there is nothing more than the here and now. I do not know what happens to those souls not given a fair chance, by whatever means. But we know that what we are in this life is a seed. What we become by the bloom is beyond our ken. One has little idea as to the assignment of souls hereafter.

Quote
These are legitimate concerns and questions...no government should criminalize exploring them and asking them.

No they are not. They are absurd.

If there is a choice between screwing through a hole in a sheet and living to 100 [...]

A gross misinterpretation, in more ways than one.

You rolls yer bones, and you takes yer chances - have at it.

What is the answer?

That you're going to Hell because you don't believe in his god.

If babies aren't miracles but just another bit of the material world, then why can't they be treated like everything else, and he removed if they offend?

They aren't in the least bit absurd, and government should not be in the business of criminalizing their discussion.

Because if you can do it to babies, you can do it to adults.
Let it burn.

Riiight. because it is the Luddites who abhor scientism and humanism that are the blasphemers.

God is dead. He died in 1996.....
