Rick Perry doesn’t want to pull out of the Paris Accords…

The Right Scoop    Apr. 26, 2017 5:22 pm by The Right Scoop

Sometimes you just read things that makes you shake your head, because they don’t make sense. This is one of them:
Quote
CNN – Energy Secretary Rick Perry said Tuesday he wouldn’t recommend the US pull out of the Paris climate accord — but instead would suggest the White House take steps to renegotiate the agreement.

Speaking at a Bloomberg event in New York, Perry said, “I’m not going to tell the President of the United States let’s just walk away from the Paris accord. But what I’m going to say is I think we probably need to renegotiate it, and they need to get serious about.”

President Donald Trump previously said he plans to pull the US out of the Paris Agreement — a 2015 accord that aims to limit global warming-causing gases and lets nations adjust their own emissions targets.

Trump pledged to “cancel” the accord on the 2016 campaign trail, calling the accord last October, “outdated, unnecessary, bad for workers or contrary to the national interest.”
Why renegotiate what you can just pull out of? As if a renegotiation is going to yield anything but maybe a marginal improvement? Trump promised he’d pull out, so why not hold him to it and advocate pulling out?

My guess is that Trump doesn’t want to pull out and thus Perry is being the good soldier.

Mark Levin tweeted this out earlier, saying “Sorry, but this guy never impressed me.”

Who are these fools who think its possible to unilaterally renegotiate something with 195 countries, 144 of which are perfectly happy (ratified) with it?

Rick Perry doesn’t want to pull out of the Paris Accords

Perry probably thinks this is about a Honda dealership in France.

I didn't see Greg Abbot mentioned.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Heh.

Rick Perry yes. Greg Abbott no.

At the moment Texas has a Real Governor in Abbott.

He'd be my pipe dream Presidential candidate but the GOPE would give him more trouble getting in than the Dems would.
My 'Viking Hunter' High Adventure Alternate History Series is FREE, ALL 3 volumes, at most ebook retailers including Ibooks, Barnes and Noble, Kobo, and more.

In Vol 2 the weapons come out in a winner take all war on two fronts.

Vol 3 opens with the rigged murder trial of the villain in a Viking Court under Viking law to set the stage for the hero's own murder trial.
