Police documents released Monday say United dragging victim David Dao was violent before being forcibly removed from a flight in Chicago on April 9.

The Chicago Aviation Police reports were released in response to Freedom of Information Act requests by the Los Angeles Times and other news organizations.

In the reports, Officer James Long said Dao knocked Long’s arm while he was being pulled from his seat, which caused some of his injuries, USA Today reported.

United did not want a passenger to be the fall guy, so placed blame on the removal officers.

Bet United paying off all passengers on flight had a legal clause which prevented any passenger receiving money from commenting.

It was the police who dragged him off the plane.  Of course they have their own construct on the events.

It doesn't matter.   Its over man.  The guy wins in the court of public opinion.  And that is all that counts.   Besides everyone knows the police write reports after the fact and place themselves in the best light.  Not putting much weight in those reports from Chicago.

I will say this that the man who videotaped all this sided with the cops...he has said that no one saw what happened prior to him being dragged off the plane..

Ummmm:

Quote
Two of the four officers involved added introductory statements to their reports that said the statements weren’t voluntary, but were given under threat of losing their jobs, USA Today reported.
...

The police reports, which claimed Dao was verbally abusive and fought back against officers attempting to remove him, appeared to be at odds with videos taken by passengers on the flight, some of which have been widely circulated on social media and viewed many millions of times.

Did anyone ever see the officials actually pry the man out of his seat? All I ever saw was them dragging him, limp, down the aisle.

Imagine that.  He was waving his arms at those who were trying to unseat him.  Brushing them off.
How dare he?
The very same officers who were part of dragging him off the plane wrote the after report.
So are we to believe our own eyes???????????

Fast one too.  Guess both parties wanted it to be over.

Next time United needs to get on the PA and announce that they need 4 seats and they'll pay $1000 for each of them.

They did that.  $800 plus expenses.

In the future this will be handled the way a passenger was removed this past week.  Guy insisted on using the bathroom when the plane was queued to take off (third).  The plane left the queue and returned to the gate where everybody was removed and reboarded, minus the one passenger.  Caused a multi-hour delay for everybody.  One can argue whether the guy deserved to be removed, but this will be how it's done in the future.
