No. Reagan was all about shutting the govt' down and letting people handle their own affairs. He was a huge Calvin Coolidge fan. He despised socialized medicine. These are all the opposite of Kasich who is a fan of Obamacare.

You cannot cite one social program that Kasich was willing to eliminate or cut back on when he was running for President. Reagan ran specifically on cutting social spending. His first budget slashed the hell out of welfare.
