Secretary of Defense James Mattis pledged Monday to confront Russia over allegations that Moscow has been funneling weapons to the Taliban in Afghanistan.

Army Gen. John Nicholson, the top commander for U.S. forces in Afghanistan, said he would “not refute” the claim that Russia is funneling weapons to Taliban insurgents at a news conference in Kabul, The Associated Press reports.

Obviously, I think the Taliban are nothing but bad hombres but... in diplomatic circles, there might be the "good Taliban" and the "bad Taliban", for example, they might help broker a peace in Pakistan. Anyway, there is no shortage of articles discussing this and not so much as your questionable off-the-wall sources.

Good Taliban and Bad Taliban: New Dynamic inside Pakistan

Pakistan must discard their good Taliban bad Taliban narrative

See, Russia sees the Taliban as some sort of power against ISIS; not necessarily against NATO/US forces though, that would probably be a possibility.

I didn't post it here because it sounded like prop from the other side, but some sources say that where the MOAB was dropped, was on a tunnel system originally built by CIA interests in the war against the Russian Soviet invasion back in the '80s. Well, many classify the acts of the USSR back then under Brezhnev as amounting to genocide.

I was attacked for spreading the "fake news" about this on this board a couple of weeks back.
