Reread the article. They are not talking about ugly cities. They are talking about the people who live there being ugly.

There are some beautiful statues in Detroit.

This is just one of the great stone carvings on the fountain on Belle Isle.



The Starkey Statue also on Belle Isle is one of my favorites.
