Fox News' The O'Reilly factor launched in 1996 before the network was a household name in cable news.

The show quickly became a hit with Bill O'Reilly offering his perspective and commentary on hot-button issues throughout America and the world.

After two decades at Fox News, according to one report, it appears that O'Reilly's career at Fox News could be coming to an end, via New York Magazine:

The only ones who care about this scandal, if there is one, is the Left. His ratings are beating network programming in that hour and not by a little. I have a hard time believing he is being unceremoniously shelved. Hell, Brian Williams was serially lying and he is back on the air.

...Last week, his O’Reilly Factor averaged more than 3.7 million total viewers and 652,000 in the A25-54 demo, giving him the No. 1 show of the week in both measurements, and breaking Rachel Maddow‘s winning streak in the demo.

O’Reilly was up double digits from the same week last year: up +28% percent in viewers and up +42 percent in the demo.

Among viewers, his was the No. 2 show of the week on cable TV, after USA’s Monday Night Raw....
