Her wedding dress was awful!

@libertybele

Omg. that's awful.  Honestly, I think the cake's way overdone too, lol.

@Right_in_Virginia

Nice.  I really think she looks best in slim skirts.  Her legs go on forever.

I totally agree with you.  It does make the legs look long, but it also makes everything look out of proportion.  I'm not a fan of the style.

I'm going to be odd one out and say I like it, lol.  I don't mind a high-waisted skirt.

I don't know about the ring.  Why does everyone not like it?  Because it's big, or is it the shape/cut?

OMG, I agree @libertybele  And I thought Jackie's gown was "busy".   Yikes!! to Melania.  What was she thinking?  And don't start me on the veil.  :laugh:

@Right_in_Virginia

This is the first time I've seen Jackie's gown.  It's bad.

I like the high-waisted skirt, too, @CatherineofAragon ... especially when the hemline is just below the knee.  The style elongates the body.

I really like the ring .... wouldn't mind having one myself.   ^-^   And I love that she wears it fearlessly.

I don't like them either.  They're like a boob belt without the belt.  I'm short wasted with long legs.  I'd look ridiculous in one; so I am biased a bit.

Trump is no stranger there.

The Trump Princess was originally built for Adnan Khashoggi, who had christened it Nabila, was sold to the Sultan of Brunei, and then bought by Trump, refit and named the Trump Princess, and has since been renamed the Kingdom 5 KR, after Trump sold it to Al-Waleed bin Talal. Along the way, the movement of the yacht marks major business deals (often in distress) which go far beyond selling a boat.
To say he knows people there is an understatement.

She doesn't need to stretch her lower body, and that is the appearance it gives. It throws her proportions off. She is long legged in the first place, heels emphasize that already, and the high waist, almost to boob belt height just makes her lower body look far longer, like there is someone up there on stilts. I just do not think it is the best effect for her. The high waisted black slacks she had on in a pic the other day had the same effect.

I think this is my favorite thread here.

I liked seeing Jackie Kennedy's wedding dress too.

Does anyone know if there is a place like the Smithsonian that has old gowns from older First Ladies like the 1700-1800s on display?

I've seen such exhibits in European museums

LOL! Enjoy!!

I think there is a new baby panda to look at....not sure. I haven't seen the Smithsonian since the 8th grade trip to D.C.

All I remember from that was the museum with the space ships and Lindbergh's plane.

And of course the place where they make all the money.

You went to the National Air and Space Museum, The National Zoo, and The Bureau of Printing and Engraving.
There is a 'new Panda at the zoo, just weaned (@2 yrs--they grow up so fast!), an article here .
Last time I was at the Smithsonian was while I was in college, in the backrooms of the Natural History museum, checking out the Cushman Collection.

Natural History and History and Technology were my favorites until Air and Space was opened up.
I remember taciturn guards giving us 'that look' at the Bureau of Engraving when we were up there (6th grade), asking if they gave free samples. (I wonder how many times they heard that in a day?)

Sorry to all the high trousers haters - she was wearing them to leave the plane.

Can't embed the video, sorry.

Actually, strike that. I think she's wearing a catsuit.

And it IS leather....wow.
