Trump calls Putin, offers U.S. help in responding to St. Petersburg bombingWashington Times, Apr 4, 2017, S.A. Miller
President Trump called Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday night to offer the full support of the U.S. in responding to the deadly subway bombing in St. Petersburg and bringing those responsible to justice.
Mr. Trump expressed “his deepest condolences to the victims and their loved ones, and the Russian people,” according to the White House.
In the phone call, Mr. Trump and Mr. Putin agreed that terrorism must be decisively and quickly defeated, the White House said.
Russian officials determined a suicide bomber was behind the blast that killed 14 people and injured 49 others Monday afternoon.
The explosion struck St. Petersburg, the country’s second-largest city and Mr. Putin’s hometown, while the Russian president was visiting the city.
