RUSH: So I got an email, actually got a few of these yesterday after the program. “Hey, Rush, why are you so derisive on working with the Democrats? You said that Trump might reach out to the Democrats, can’t get anything going with the Republicans, it would be a bad idea. Why do you think it’s a bad idea?”
Come on, folks. The Democrats have one mission here, and they’re well underway, and it’s destroying Donald Trump. They don’t want to make anything happen here. Do you understand, the Democrats do not want one iota of any progress to accrue under Donald Trump. I mean, that bodes ill for 2018 but just as a matter of principle, they’re not there to work with anybody to get things done. The Democrat Party exists, and the media, to wipe out Republicans, including Trump. It’s no more complicated than that.
That’s why I cringe when I hear people like Lindsey Graham and John Kasich talking about reaching across the aisle and working with Democrats. That’s not the solution here, because the Democrats are not gonna do anything that improves life for anybody except maybe marginally among their constituency base. But even then they won’t do it if they think Trump’s gonna get the credit for it.
