Humvee Stolen From National Guard Armory in Ohio

The Humvee was stolen either late Tuesday or early Wednesday.

Authorities in Ohio are still on the hunt for a Humvee swiped from an Ohio National Guard Armory.

The State Highway Patrol says someone cut through a fence at the Ohio National Guard Armory in Stow southeast of Cleveland and made off with the sand-colored Humvee.

A guard spokeswoman says they think the Humvee was stolen either late Tuesday or early Wednesday.

chain-link fences and mostly empty buildings

I am surprised it doesn't happen more often

You call that an armory?

This is an armory.

Actually its now "Armory arts village" (Housing for low income people with crayons) in Jackson Michigan. There is a National Guard transportation company based in Jackson but I think its just an administrative thing. Its inside the walls of an old civil war era prison and used to be full of military vehicles.

The Google Maps aerial image shows quite a lot of empty space inside (parade grounds?) that could be used for something.

Its still listed as a national guard armory (1461st Transportation Co)

I know they've been deployed several times over the past 16 years. I've also got friends who were deployed with them for the 1st Gulf War.
