Romanian and American female troops are staging joint exercises which have been captured in a series of fascinating photographs.

Assigned to the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, the the U.S. Marine Female Engagement Team have been interacting with their Romanian counterparts at the country's Capu Midia training grounds, as part of an exercise dubbed Spring Storm 2017.

Spring Storm has seen around 1,200 U.S. and Romanian troops simulate defense of the Romanian Black Sea.

Those engagement teams are a good idea.  They're not intended to be combat troops -- they're intended to be liaison for contacts with local female/children who may be more intimidated by, or less open with, male Marines.  Good usage of personnel.
