Should President Trump give fireside chats?
« on: March 16, 2017, 06:50:44 pm »
FDR was known for his fireside chats. He used them to take his message directly to the American people.

Reagan was also known for taking his message directly to the American people.

Should President Trump give his own version of fireside chats (televised, of course)?

I said yes. Think all presidents should.

Bad enough I can't entirely avoid seeing or hearing him 24/7.  No thank you.

By the way, I couldn't stomach seeing or hearing Obama either. Did my best to avoid any news story about him or his press conferences or addresses for 8 years.

I voted yes. He's better in that setting then on Twitter, where he comes off as a nutjob. I think it would calm people on him.

Unnecessary.  He gets the job done via Twitter.  His day is full enough without having to schedule a fireside chat.

Don't care one way or the other.

I don't have to listen to his juvenile insulting crap.

Trump is neither a Roosevelt nor a Reagan.  He's effed up enough with his fireside tweets; a fireside chat would end up being nothing more than a fusillade of stupidity.

I voted "no."  It would come off as a cheap device.  Obama was always making speeches, and it got to where they lost all import.  I'd like to see a President just shut up and do his job for a while.  And no, I don't much care for the tweeting late at night either.  I don't think it's helping.

Now if I can convince those kids to get off my lawn.....

I don't care, I'll read about it here.  It would be a fire hazard though with all that hair spray in proximity of fire.
No government in the 12,000 years of modern mankind history has led its people into anything but the history books with a simple lesson, don't let this happen to you.

Absolutely not. If you think the liberals are having fits now, just wait until the ecowhackos started ranting about burning fossil fuels or even Treeeeeees!
They'd be howling about how Trump was personally bringing doom to humanity (and the planet)!

@Cyber Liberty

Try this and one strand of wire or string. If you don't spend a lot on a fence, it makes them wonder if there is no real need to.
