4 convicted of forming German far-right terrorist group

BERLIN –  Three men and a woman were sentenced to prison terms between three and five years Wednesday for forming a far-right terrorist group in Germany with a plan to bomb refugee homes as a tactic to scare migrants into leaving the country.

The Munich state court ruled that the four founded the so-called Oldschool Society in August 2014. The group grew to have about 30 members with plans to commit attacks on foreigners and refugee homes because of their racist, anti-Semitic and anti-Muslim beliefs, the court said.

There's a graph on that page that shows there were more injuries in the early '90s in Germany than 2015. That's around the time the Iron Curtain came down. I wonder what that spurt was about?

Nothing new. Germany had the "Baader Meinhoff" (aka RAF for Red Army Faction) group decades ago, which were truly left-wing terrorists.

To differing degrees, each country in Europe had similar movements.

Today Horst Mahler, a founding RAF member, is now a vocal Neo-Nazi and Holocaust denier.[53] In 2005, Mahler was sentenced to 6 years in prison for incitement to racial hatred against Jews.[54] He is on record as saying that his beliefs have not changed: Der Feind ist der Gleiche (The enemy is the same).[55]

In the US there was "The Weather Underground."
