How merit based immigration policy will impact tech companies
Published on March 10, 2017 in USA

US President Donald Trump’s win to the topmost chair of the world has had its share of hiccups since the time he has assumed the post. His take on immigration and visa rules has had their share of pros and cons and has equally met with bouquets as well as brickbats. Nevertheless, he remains unnerved about the hullabaloo going all around.

The newest clause that has interested many is his take on merit-based immigration system whereby entry of higher-skilled workers has been facilitated. Under this, tech companies have a brighter chance of hiring the best resources. According to CEO of the Consumer Technology Association, Gary Shapiro this is the most optimistic step he has seen about immigration legislation.  Reducing family based visas is also a point to worry about.
