Meet the "neoConfederacy" of Socialist Blue States. I'm laughing at this Kevin Baker who likely scoffed when Conservatives and Constitutional Originalists suggested nearly the same thing he is proposing. I imagine he greeted the suggestion during Obama's tenure with calls of 'sedition' for merely talking about it. He opines on his wonderfully misguided belief that the Leftist Blue States are what makes up American prosperity and he defines a proposal to separate "Progressive" states from the 'backwards/racist/too white' Red states. Something some of us have been suggesting for some time to absolute derision and ridicule from these same people when their purple-lipped Heinous was at the helm.
I agree wholeheartedly with his proposal, albeit like all emoting and logically handicapped Leftists who ignore reality beyond comfortable statistics in which to social engineer, the outcome of his desires will not accomplish what he thinks they will.
But as I have opined here before, and pieces like this are sprouting up like dandelions in springtime - it is become self-evident we can no longer co-exist in the same nation as these people. Either we are going to amicably split and balkanize the country among literal lines rather than just ideological ones - or there is going to be a bloodbath in the effort to achieve that. I think that Obama's attempt to create a parallel government alongside Trump's is for this entire purpose.
We are no longer a people united in a common core. This idiot's rantings make that perfectly clear. We are divided within the common cores that are no longer are compatible with the foundations of the country as it was established.
I'm all for these Blue state Socialists to separate and go their way, and take their big city Statism with them.
It will make any coming conflict much easier to wage, although I will find it amusing in the divorce proceedings about which colored states gets all the nukes and the military industrial complex they so loathe. He touches on it briefly and suggests the military simply be drawn down to pre-WWI levels before they exit. I of course say NOPE.
The funniest thing about this whole essay this moron writes - is that Baker's ideas are the equivalent of a bunch of North Korean Communists telling the South that they have the better idea that will make Korea Great Again. If this idiot actually got his dream, in 25 years the east coast, the rust belt and the West Coast will be totally dark via satellite images, while the middle of flyover country radiates with the glow of lights and the humming machinations of liberty, industry and Capitalism creating individual wealth and prosperity.

A Modest Proposal For Separating Blue States From RedDear Red-State Trump Voter,
Let’s face it, guys: We’re done.
For more than 80 years now, we—the residents of what some people like to call Blue America, but which I prefer to think of as the United States of We Pay Our Own Damn Way—have shelled out far more in federal tax monies than we took in. We have funded massive infrastructure projects in your rural counties, subsidized your schools and your power plants and your nursing homes, sent you entire industries, and simultaneously absorbed the most destitute, unskilled, and oppressed portions of your populations, white and black alike.
All of which, it turns out, only left you more bitter, white, and alt-right than ever.
Some folks here in self-supporting America like to believe that there must be a way to bring you back to your senses and to restore rational government, if not liberal ideals, sometime in the foreseeable future. Everyone seems to have an answer for how to do this. Every day another earnest little homily finds its way to me over my internet transom: “Think locally, act globally,” or “Make art and fight the power,” or the old Joe Hill standby—“Don’t mourn. Organize.”
....What I mean is that it’s time for blue states and cities to effectively abandon the American national enterprise, as it is currently constituted. Call it the New Federalism. Or Virtual Secession. Or Conscious Uncoupling—though that’s already been used. Or maybe Bluest.
...So here’s my modest proposal:
You go your way, we go ours.
We give up. You win. From now on, we’ll treat the animating ideal on which the United States was founded—out of many, one—as dead and buried.
