By Dr Ananya Mandal, MD

Food poisoning is a term given to infections with bacteria, parasites, viruses, or toxins from germs that affects humans via contaminated food or water.

The commonest causative organisms are Staphylococcus or E. coli.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that 76 million people become ill from food related diseases each year resulting in 325,000 hospitalizations and 5,000 deaths.

Diarrhea due to food poisoning kills millions worldwide, especially in developing and under developed nations.

What's food poisoning? The reason you can't get a burger that hasn't been turned into shoe leather at any major fast food chain.

I dunno... But avoiding it starts with this principle:

If the dog won't eat it, don't you eat it neither.

I don't know if that's really the best rule to follow, considering a dog will eat things that have come out of both it's ends.  **nononono*

Given that; if the dog WON'T eat it you really better think twice.
“The way I see it, every time a man gets up in the morning he starts his life over. Sure, the bills are there to pay, and the job is there to do, but you don't have to stay in a pattern. You can always start over, saddle a fresh horse and take another trail.” ― Louis L'Amour

That's right... That the dog WILL eat it does  not mean that you should too-
But if he won't eat it, stay all the way away.
