OK, CC.  I understand what you are saying.

The real problem is that these dead horses are going to get pretty ripe well before the end of Trump's 1st term.

The true believers don't want to accept it but there is already a growing murmur of dissent from people who voted for Trump. and he can't afford to lose a single percentage point. That's especially true if the democrats run someone who is marginally likeable.

There's a very good chance the Dems will run someone like Lizzie warren, an idealogue they love but the rest of the country hates. And Trump may very well win again, depending on how his Presidency goes.

Both sides are stupid at this point. Time to start looking for a third party.

The President has a symbiotic relationship with the media. I think it's a distraction.

No he doesn't. Actually Press Conferences were the invention of our first openly Progressive President Woodrow Wilson as a propaganda tool. Prior to that the President did stuff and the press just gave the 5 "W's' on the event. Reagan only held 6 conferences a year. He instead went over the presses heads and spoke directly to the people.

And from the press point of view: http://www.whca.net/history.htm

It's not like there's a Constitutional requirement involved.
