Immigration and the disingenuous elites

In Bill Clinton's 1995 State of the Union address, he said all Americans were disturbed by the number of illegal immigrants in the country. He noted the burdens they put on the taxpayers before vowing to crack down aggressively. A partial quote is:
That's why our administration has moved to aggressively secure our borders more, by hiring a record number of new border guards, by deporting twice as many criminal aliens as every before, by cracking down on illegal hiring, by barring welfare benefits to illegal aliens[.]
Clinton received a standing ovation for his remarks.
