Retired Vice Adm. Robert Harward is said to be the top candidate to replace Gen. Michael Flynn as President Trump's national security adviser.
The Washington Examiner reported on Tuesday that Harward's name was in the mix along with retired Gen. David Petraeus and retired Lt. Gen. Keith Kellogg.
Harward joined the Navy out of high school. After rising through the ranks he became a Navy SEAL and then the SEAL's top commander. While at U.S. Central Command, Harward served as the three-star deputy to then-Gen. Jim Mattis before retiring in 2013.
